TRAKYA UNIVERSITY VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS 3+1 WORKPLACE EDUCATION (VOCATIONAL WORKPLACE EDUCATION) PRACTICE INFORMATION
The main purpose of the education model called 3+1 is to ensure that 3 semesters of Education are taught at school and 1 semester is applied in businesses in order to ensure that students are trained for employment in Vocational Schools that train qualified manpower for certain professions.
Vocational Education in the Workplace is regulated in accordance with the Law No. 3308 so that the students of higher education institutions can do vocational training in businesses.
According to this law, the 3+1 education model aims to reinforce the theoretical vocational education knowledge that our students received in formal education with practical application in businesses. With this type of training, students will be provided with knowledge and experience by continuously participating in business life for 16 weeks by improving their professional knowledge and skills, ensuring their adaptation to business life. Therefore, at the end of this practical work to be done in businesses, our students will be able to obtain the qualification of a qualified professional staff. In addition, according to the Social Insurance Law No. 506, the insurance transactions of the students against work and occupational diseases are carried out by Trakya University.
At the end of the professional practice process, these businesses can employ students if they wish. Our students have the opportunity to start working in the workplaces where they have completed 3+1 education.
Our university is among the 3 universities that started the 3+1 application throughout Turkey in the 2017-2018 academic year. A total of 5 (five) Vocational Schools at Trakya University switched to 3+1 Workplace Training System in the 2017-2018 academic year.;

Information Studies on Institutions-Schools on the 3+1 Education System.
Vocational Schools Board held 11 meetings in 2017, 7 meetings in 2018, 4 meetings in 2019, 9 meetings in 2020 and 4 meetings in 2021, and made decisions by negotiating the implementation of 3+1 workplace training.
Studies were carried out on the studies and decisions of the program boards formed in Vocational Schools and the courses and practices of the schools.
Vocational Schools Advisory Board of 80 people was formed with the participation of the Managers and Representatives of Public and Private Institutions and Organizations in Edirne province and the districts where the Vocational Schools are located. With the participation of these board members, 3 Advisory Board meetings were held in Edirne Center and one each in the districts. In addition, visits were made to organizations in provinces and districts.
In line with the opinions of these Boards and external stakeholders, consisting of public and private institutions in provinces and districts, as external stakeholders, decisions are taken by the University Senate to make improvements in the curriculum of the courses and improvements in the practices.
